Dayhiking the Trail
| This year, some of the folks will be hiking the trail in parts and staying at local campgrounds at night. Most people will be staying overnight at or near Neel's Gap and starting the hike there on the morning of June 9th. I found a good place to camp near the section of the trail we will be hiking. It's called Enota Mountain Resort, and it's near Brasstown Bald. I have reserved a cabin the for the nights of June 9-12. Enota has everything from tent camp sites to RV sites, and there are short hikes to 4 waterfalls on the property. |
| I plan to make the first day's hike with Eric to Whitley Gap, and this is near the crossing with GA-348. I will have my truck parked there for when we arrive. I will meet back up with Eric near Brasstown Bald at a yet to be determined time. The following are some maps that might come in handy navigating the mountains of north Georgia. ~Hans |
